Listening and Support Volunteer

Your role as a Clan LISTENING & SUPPORT VOLUNTEER is essential in helping to provide our vital Listening and Support service to people affected by a cancer diagnosis (directly or indirectly) in your local community. The listening and support service offers a welcoming, relaxed, safe and confidential environment for people to talk about the cancer experience with someone who can listen and provide emotional and wellbeing support.
Training will be provided. We ask that volunteers give back one year of their time - at least one session per week (3-4 hours)
An interview will take place to make sure potential volunteers understand what is expected from them.
Possibly assist with surveys.

Understanding and non-judgemental. Resilient.

Frequency & commitment
Clan-s service runs: Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm Volunteers are required to be available for either a morning shift or an afternoon shift on a rota basis. Working on a rota basis attending a 4-hour shift either weekly, fortnightly or monthly to a minimum of 12 months and on occasions be flexible and available to help at short notice.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
