Dementia Café Volunteers

-About The Living Well Project:
Dementia is a progressive and debilitating condition affecting not only the person with a diagnosis but the whole family. The Living Well Cafés offer a safe, friendly and welcoming place where people are supported and can spend time participating in optional activities, having fun or just sitting watching others. Music plays a big part at our cafés. This is a great opportunity to help make a real difference in the lives of people living with dementia or other memory loss issues.
-About this opportunity:
We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and caring volunteers who can help at The Living Well Cafés. We have four cafés each running fortnightly on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon– at Brimmond Church, Bucksburn AB21 9SS; Oldmachar Church, Bridge of Don AB22 8PR; Devana Church, Fonthill Road AB11 6UD and Aberdeen Hillside Church, Hilton Drive AB24 4NQ.
Dementia Friends training is offered via the Alzheimer Scotland website to anyone with an interest in dementia. No training is necessary - just patience and a caring heart.
For more information about volunteering with us please contact Karen Sommerville on 07512 141818 or Brenna Collie on 07927 541029 or email us at [email protected]
A PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) check is now a legal requirement for this volunteering post (there is no cost to volunteers for this).
