Arts and Crafts Volunteer - Leverndale Hospital

Do you have creative skills that you would like to share to improve the hospital experience for adults living with mental health illness?
Leverndale Hospital's In-Patient Mental Health Services are looking for volunteers to deliver art activities, to people who are currently being cared for as in-patients with,
What will I be doing?
Volunteers will be placed in ward setting, supported by nursing staff to deliver relaxed arts and crafts sessions and facilitate group participation. We are keen to hear from volunteers who are hobbyists as well as those who have an arts background, with anticipated activities ranging from mindful colouring, to crafting, and tactile and sensory arts. The role would be especially well suited to those with an interest in the links between art and improved mental health.
Time commitment?
You will be asked to volunteer for around two hours per week, including any prep time. This role is available throughout the year, and ongoing.
Glasgow City HSCP (NHSGGC In-Patient Mental Health Services) has an amazing team of unpaid volunteers who work with us to make the patient experience as good as it can be.  This has involved spending time chatting with patients who have no visitors, helping visitors navigate the hospital, helping to make spaces and places greener and more pleasant and facilitating therapeutic activities with patients.
If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on [email protected].
