Saturday Shop Volunteer – Kirkintilloch Hospice Shop - The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice

Fancy doing something feel-good with your Saturday? Our Kirkintilloch Hospice Shop is looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help out on Saturdays, supporting a busy local charity shop that raises vital funds for hospice care.

This is a great opportunity to give something back, meet new people, and be part of a welcoming team — all while helping the hospice continue its important work in the community.

Whether you’re looking for a regular volunteering role, want to build confidence and skills, or simply enjoy being around people, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Getting Up To

As a Saturday Shop Volunteer, you’ll be involved in a range of everyday shop activities, including:

Welcoming customers and creating a friendly, positive atmosphere
Chatting with shoppers and offering helpful customer service
Sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items
Helping keep the shop tidy, organised, and inviting
Using the till and card machine (full training provided)
Working alongside the Shop Manager and other volunteers as part of a team

No two shifts are exactly the same — it’s a varied, social role where your support really makes a difference.

Support You’ll Receive

We want our volunteers to feel confident and supported. You’ll receive:
A full induction and role-specific training
Ongoing support from the Shop Manager and retail team
Clear guidance on tasks, health & safety, and shop procedures
A supportive and welcoming volunteer community
Reimbursement of agreed out-of-pocket travel expenses (in line with PPWH volunteer policy)

If you are interested, please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out, then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org
