You’ll lead an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and supportive fundraising team, building on their experience while encouraging fresh, creative ideas. From Open Days and coffee mornings to quizzes, raffles and whatever exciting new concepts the group dreams up, no two days are the same.

Training details
Your first port of call will be the other volunteers who are a friendly and experienced bunch. You will also have an RNLI staff member assigned to assist you and the fundraising group in your role. This person will be on hand for induction, training and advice whenever needed. Based in Perth they will come and visit Orkney a couple of times each year.
You'll also have the support of other RNLI fundraising groups in Orkney, there are 11! Orkney does an amazing job of setting up events, raffles and all sorts of creative things to help raise vital funds for the RNLI. They often collaborate on big events (like the Island Games) and will be there to lend a hand if needed.
Finally, you'll have the help of the rest of RNLI Kirkwall community including the shop team, the crew and a lifeboat press officer to help advertise the fundraising group and your events.
It's a role where you'll have lots of freedom to be creative, but one which puts you in the centre of a supportive, enthusiastic network of people so you never feel like you're doing it alone.
