Fundraising Volunteer

We would love you to join our volunteer fundraising team. Parkhead CAB delivers free and confidential advice and information on welfare benefits, housing and employment rights, immigration and family law. We need to raise money for Parkhead CAB’s vital work in supporting very vulnerable families and children in the East End of Glasgow. Currently, we raise most money through making applications to charitable foundations and trust. We want to expand our activities to include: mounting public fund-raising, encouraging donations from institutions and individuals. If you have experience of any of these activities (including making funding applications) and are willing to contribute new ideas to help Parkhead CAB, then please apply. You will be working alongside our Development Officer and in collaboration with the Board of Trustee’s fundraising sub-group.

Training details

You will be given a full induction to the aims, principles and work of Parkhead CAB and this will include access to the CAB online training system. You will, learn about the advice and information service, meet new people and work alongside a team that is dedicated and fully committed to helping people. You will have the experience of working for a small charity and the opportunity to develop new skills, for example, preparing and delivering presentations in order to represent the bureau. Parkhead CAB gives full support to its volunteers and if and when volunteers move on to other ventures, we provide reference. The induction will include familiarising yourself with Parkhead’s policies and practices including its fund-raising policy.

Taster

Come along to an informal meeting and meet the team. The role is very flexible. Initially during induction and a ‘setling in’ period the work will be mostly office based. There after some work may be carried out at home. Our office is wheelchair friendly and there is access to a toilet suitable for people with disabilities.
