Panel Practice Advisers

Children’s Hearings Scotland  is looking for people who have good assessment, observation, and communication skills to join our team as a Panel Practice Adviser.

What will you be doing?
Panel Practice Advisers are responsible for the quality assurance, and they regularly observe Panel Members within children's hearings and feedback so improvements can be made.  They are also part of the recruitment and selection of new Panel Members while conducting Panel Members re-appointment reviews. Their goal is to support Panel Members through feedback to ensure the strongest possible decisions are being made for children and young people.

Who are we looking for?
You’ll be enthusiastic and committed to securing the rights of children and young people and improving their outcomes and experiences; able to lead and be part of a team; a strong communicator. You should also be familiar with working with volunteers and be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to and understanding of the ethos of Children’s Hearings Scotland.

Full training is provided, with the aim to enhance your skills in leadership, effective communication, managing conflict and influencing and negotiating – all of which are transferable into the workplace.
