Kinning Park Complex
- VO105315
Your role will be to support the Kinning Park Complex 30th anniversary oral history recordings. We are looking for someone who is passionate about community heritage and preserving (his)stories; with good communication and active listening skills; willing to work as part of a team with different people; who can volunteer a day a week over May and June, and is available for some/most Saturdays in May; who can attend 2 x induction/training sessions in April.
30 years ago our building was threatened with closure by the council until a group of young women and mothers stood up and demanded it be put into community hands. They occupied the building 24/7 for 55 days straight, leading to a victorious community buyout. This project will celebrate this incredible piece of Glaswegian activist history through honouring it with 55 days of action, events, heritage, and celebration in our building from the 3rd of May until the 27th of June 2026.
