Volunteer Videographer

Dalkeith & District Citizens Advice Bureau are a small charity organisation that provide support and advice to the community of Midlothian. We want to increase our reach in the community through our online platforms. We would like to make our services more accessible to all ages, including young people that have never used our services before.
As part of our Media Team, you will.
· Work with a diverse group of people in a kind manner using excellent communication skills.
· Help us tell our stories through video, photography, graphics and writing.
· Create 'How To' reels for aspects of our services.
· Assist with editing reels, videos and photographs making them fit for online viewing or for print.
· Create graphics for online advertisements and for various campaigns.
· Build your skills to add more weight to your CV and portfolio.
· Meet lots of new people, of all ages and nationalities.
The interview and initial training will take place at the Dalkeith CAB office. The volunteer role will take place at Dalkeith CAB and across various outreaches in Midlothian. All venues are linked to bus routes.

Experience required

· An understanding of the work we do our values and the community we provide advice to.
· An understanding of the charity sector, GDPR, Data Protection and Safeguarding or a willingness to learn.
· Some experience with videography, photography and a willingness to undergo self-directed and directed learning.
· Some experience with editing and making online reels.
· Use of own equipment a bonus but not essential.
· Confidence in using, IT packages email, diary management.
· Maintaining strong boundaries and practising self-awareness while working amicably with staff and other volunteers.

Travel details

Dalkeith is serviced by bus, train and there is a free car park on Old Edinburgh Road in Dalkeith. Volunteers are reimbursed for travel expenses monthly or Bi-weekly, for car fuel or travel on public transport. Volunteers must retain evidence of their public transport expenses.

Support
Training details

We have some basic media training courses available. You will be supported by the Volunteer Manager who has a background in Media studies and practise. If you have your own videoing and editing equipment, fantastic. If not, we can organise this for the duration for your volunteer role. Other platforms currently used are Canva and PowerPoint.
