Time Options (each day): 10:00am – 8:00pm

SAMH are looking to confirm 2 volunteers per session. To help ensure full coverage, we are inviting up to 10 volunteers per session to express interest.
Following your application, the coordinator will contact you to confirm your availability and commitment to a specific session.
If you are not selected for this event, we will endeavour to keep your details on file and may contact you about future events or other SAMH volunteering opportunities.
Role Overview
SAMH is proud to be partnering with Glasgow Food Festival, a lively, family-friendly weekend packed with street food traders, local producers, live entertainment and community activity.
Positioned right in the heart of the action, the SAMH stand will be a hub of energy, conversation and fundraising.
Volunteers will support by:
- Delivering engaging fundraising activities
- Raising awareness of mental health and SAMH’s work
- Welcoming and engaging with festival-goers
- Helping create a positive, approachable and visible presence
This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with new audiences, champion mental health, and spend the day immersed in a brilliant summer festival atmosphere, all while making a meaningful impact. Volunteers are welcome to enjoy the festival before or after their shift.
Support & Training - A short pre-event briefing/induction will be provided
- SAMH staff will be present throughout the day for support
- Team-based environment with guidance available

Experience required
• Communication skills – confidently engaging with the public and explaining SAMH’s work
• Interpersonal skills – being friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport quickly
• Teamwork – working well with other volunteers and supporting each other during busy periods
• Fundraising/persuasion skills – encouraging donations in a positive, respectful way
• Reliability & time management – being dependable and turning up prepared for your shift
Travel details
Location: Victoria Park, West End (G14)
Train: Nearest stations are Jordanhill railway station (approx. 10-minute walk) and Partick railway station (approx. 10–15 minute walk)
Subway: Partick subway station – easy access from the city centre
Bus: Frequent services along Dumbarton Road and Victoria Park Drive North
Walking/Cycling: Well-connected via local paths and cycle routes
Travel expenses
Travel expenses: May be reimbursed (please check with SAMH in advance)
Food & refreshments: Sometimes provided during your shift or you may be advised to bring your own
Out-of-pocket costs: Volunteers should not be out of pocket—any agreed expenses can be claimed

Volunteers (aged 14-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
