North Atlantic Fiddle Convention 2026 Volunteers

Volunteer at the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention (NAFCo 2026) before, during or after the event. The event dates are 24th-28th June 2026.
There are a range of exciting opportunities to volunteer at this years North Atlantic Fiddle Convention which takes place between 24th-28th June 2026. Join us as we celebrate 25 years of music, dance, and cultural exchange across the North Atlantic. This special anniversary edition of NAFCo in Aberdeen brings together artists, scholars, enthusiasts and audiences from near and far to explore and celebrate the vibrant traditions of fiddle music and dance.
Whether you're here to play, dance, listen, or learn – there’s a place for you in this joyful gathering of communities and cultures.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support NAFCo 2026 before, during and after the event.
Volunteers are absolutely essential in ensuring the smooth running of the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention.
Activities include; assisting festival staff with errands and tasks, providing general festival information to artists and the public, distributing leaflets and signs, and taking on roles such as front of house or stewarding an event.
There are flexible times and multiple venues available to volunteer including NESCol - North East Scotland College, a range of Aberdeen City venues, Banchory and Braemar.
*Eligibility:
-No previous experience required
-You must be aged 18 years or older by June 2026

-What happens next?
Once you have noted your interest in becoming a NAFCo volunteer - please register interest by completing the 'Register to Volunteer Form at https://www.northatlanticfiddle.com/volunteer.asp , we shall be in touch closer to the festival to co-ordinate training and scheduling.
You do not need to have any special musical talent or experience – we are looking for keen, organised and committed helpers! Full support and guidance is provided to all volunteers. Tell us when you are available and become a NAFCo 2026 Volunteer!
We understand that you may want to go to events and do other things during the festival so you are not expected to volunteer for the whole five days ! If things change, don’t worry just let us know as soon as possible.
There will be some freebees if you are a volunteer but unfortunately due to constraints on funding we will not be able to give free access to the ticketed events – there will however be plenty of free access events and pop up performances! So much to look forward to!!

All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
