Marketing and TikTok Content Officer

Friends of the Broadway Prestwick is a community group dedicated to bringing the former Broadway Cinema in Prestwick into community ownership. Our aim is to reopen the Broadway as a professional cinema, exciting multi-use venue, and inter-generational community hub.
We are seeking a creative and motivated volunteer with strong TikTok and short-form video skills to work closely with our Communications and Marketing team. The role will help ensure that FOTBP digital presence is engaging, consistent, and reflects the energy and ongoing developments at the Broadway.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and making content that resonates with modern audiences and involves the following:
• Plan, create, film, and edit engaging TikTok-first content, with occasional cross-posting to other platforms such as Instagram.
• Develop creative short-form video concepts that highlight Broadway events, behind-the-scenes activity, and community stories.
• Work collaboratively with the marketing team to produce compelling captions, scripts, and calls-to-action.
• Stay up to date with TikTok trends, sounds, platform features, and best practice.
• Identify trending topics and real-time opportunities relevant to the Broadway and its audience.
• Monitor and actively engage with comments, messages, and community interactions to help build a positive and authentic online presence.
• Respond to enquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner.
• Support the organisation in maintaining and enhancing its online reputation.
Volunteers are required to provide their own equipment, including a smartphone, camera, and any editing tools or software they normally use to create short-form video content.

Experience required

• Demonstrable experience creating content for TikTok, with a strong understanding of what performs well on the platform.
• Experience with Instagram Reels or other short-form video platforms is an advantage.
• Confident filming and editing short-form video content independently.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone to suit different audiences.
• A basic understanding of social media insights, analytics, and performance tracking.
• Creative, proactive, and comfortable experimenting with new ideas and formats.
