Youth Volunteers

We are looking for Youth Volunteers to help us facilitate meaningful climate action projects. This could be
gardening, food growing. youth work, walks, cycles.

Experience required

An interest in climate / social issues is preferred, IT and social media is a key skill needed too. Gardening,
good with people. We dont do Saltire awards, but we can offer Dynamic Youth Awards, John Muir Awards.

Travel details

Mostly at Twechar, but will join Outreach Officer at other groups around EDC

Training details

Ongoing training and support for the volunteer After an informal chat, and the volunteer is suitable then we will welcome them to Twechar Healthy Living
& Enterprise Centre, where application form will be filled in discuss times and how they can help. Tour of
centre, introducing them to other staff and volunteers, covering health & safety and fire regulations. We will
buddy the volunteer with a paid member of staff, likelihood is it will our Outreach Officer. Regular feedback
and support and happy to deliver some Youth Scotland awards if that is what the young person wants.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 14

Volunteers (aged 14-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
