Are you interested in raising awareness of stroke in your community ?
As a Volunteer Community Connector, you will be making links with your local community to raise awareness of stroke, the Stroke Association’s information resources, support and prevention messages.
Experience required
Anyone who has had experience of a stroke, in a caring role, professional in the stroke field or has a genuine interest in stroke. You are able to get around your own community.
Travel details
Must be able to travel independently.
Travel expenses
Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Support
Training details
All online through our learning site; LEARN, People welcome session, GDPR, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Lone working and specific Community Connector training directly with Engagement Officer, and any other training that is identified for this role. Our LEARN site also provides additional learning opportunities about the effects of stroke.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 25
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check is required for this role.
Frequency & commitment
Flexible volunteer role, working within your own time scales and availability.
Volunteers (aged 25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
