Volunteer Group Leader

Forth Valley Pandas is a local, constituted group which is part of a national charity supporting families being impacted by perinatal mental health problems. In Forth Valley as well as running a Peer Support Group they also run a Mindful Crafting Group and a Parenting Multiples Group.
Forth Valley Pandas are currently looking to recruit Volunteer Group Leaders for their Parenting Multiples Group. They are looking for people who would like to support families with multiples; twins, triplets or two or more singletons under nursery school age. Volunteer tasks will include:
*helping to set up toys or other equipment for the group
*make tea/coffee
*prepare snacks
*hold a baby/play with toddlers
*help to clear up after the group
Volunteers must keep what is said in the group confidential and remain non-judgemental. No formal training required but a PVG check is required for this role which Forth Valley Pandas will process for you.

Experience required

No formal training required, however volunteers must adhere to confidentiality, have an interest in interacting with young children and be non judgemental.

Tryst Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir, FK5 3BB.
There are buses that stop close by and there is a car park.

Expenses are not available.

Training details

Induction: shadowing one of the other group leaders.
New volunteers will always be with other more experienced volunteers and will always have a named contact to speak to.

The group currently meets twice a month (the 1st and 3rd Thursday) from 10am - 11:30am. With setting up and clearing up times we are looking for approximately 4.5hours per month.

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
