About this event
Volunteering in our community garden to help grow food, enhance biodiversity and feel good! You will take part in a range of seasonal garden tasks. There is always a choice of activity, no experience or minimum commitment required.
Volunteering details
As a Community Garden Volunteer you can attend weekly sessions in our community garden, running all year round. Led by our experienced and friendly Community Growing Coordinator, you can choose a garden task which suits your interests and abilities. We offer lightweight tools, and seated options.
Our activities focus on growing food (fruit, herbs, vegetables) and enhancing biodiversity, with a range of well established growing spaces to learn and share your knowledge in. You do not need any experience, as we are a learning garden, and sessions are "drop in" so you can come along whenever you like.
Our garden sessions are all group based, so you will be working alongside other members of the community. A harvest is offered as a thank you at the end of each session, and we run other activities throughout the year, including skill shares, and community events with meals to celebrate our volunteers and achievements in the garden.
Experience required
No skills or experiences, just a willingness to get involved
Travel expenses
If volunteers travel for training we will reimburse expenses.
At every session we provide refreshments, tea/coffee, biscuits free of charge
Volunteer expenses must be agreed in advance.
