Community Event Volunteer

Volunteering at the Glencorse Centre community events is a varied public facing role. It’s a great way to connect to and support the local community and an opportunity to get an insight into how community events get planned, organised and run. Our community events include Farmer’s Markets (April-September, 2nd weekend of the month), Food Truck Fridays (1st Friday of the month), a Summer Fun Day, a Christmas Market (November/December), open days, and community meals and social evenings throughout the year. There are lots of different ways to get involved ranging from welcoming attendees, supporting market stall holders and event organisers, managing traffic on the carpark, helping set up / take down at events, supporting advertising, and community engagement. No previous experience is necessary, and the roles will be entirely adapted to people’s interests, capacity, physical ability and availability.
The role offers varied opportunities, many of which involve some level of physical ability, but not all. Do let us know any access requirements and we will happily arrange to chat about how we can make any opportunities more accessible to you.

Experience required

No experience necessary, just a friendly, sociable, practical, and adaptable attitude to juggle a few things going on at once in a lively community setting. Varied levels of physical ability welcome.
