Youth Club Helper

Girlguiding Scotland is Scotland's leading charity for girls and young women, and also supports more than
9000 volunteers. You might know us better as the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers. Through fun,
friendship, challenge and adventure, we empower girls aged 4 - 18 years old to find their voice, inspiring
them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community.
At the heart of Girlguiding are our regular group sessions, called unit meetings. These are run by volunteer
teams of adult leaders, helpers, and young leaders.
As a helper, there's no responsibility for planning, but you'll be the extra pair of hands needed to make unit
meetings happen. You can help behind the scenes or face to face with girls. No two units are the same
which means that all unit helpers do slightly different things. There is a lot of space to make this role your
own.
Unit meetings are split by our 4 main sections, defined by age range. It’s up to you what section you’d
rather work with, and you can attend a variety of meetings to find the right fit for you.
Rainbows are aged 4-7 and focus on fun, friendship and adventure
Brownies are aged 7-10 and focus on fun, adventure, and even first nights away!
Guides run for those aged 10-14 and is a relaxed, safe space for young members to develop their interests
and take on new challenges.
Rangers are aged 14-18, and are supported to be independent, take the lead on activities, and explore UK
and international adventures!
