Finance Assistant

The International Women’s Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our mission of empowering women from diverse backgrounds. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth financial operation of our organisation, supporting both our day-to-day activities and long-term goals.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records, including processing receipts, invoices, and expense claims.
Assist with monitoring income and expenditure to ensure financial sustainability.
Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports for the committee and funders.
Help with banking tasks, such as lodging cash/cheques and reconciling bank statements.
Assist in preparing budgets for projects, events, and funding applications.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures.
Support the Treasurer and committee with ad hoc financial tasks as required.

Experience required


  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience with basic bookkeeping or financial administration (desirable but not essential).

  • Confident using spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets).

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

  • Interest in supporting women’s empowerment and community development.
