Girlguiding Volunteer - Inverbervie & St Cyrus

We’re the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated to girls. Powered by our inspiring volunteers, we help girls know they can do anything. We encourage them to laugh, learn and have adventures. Through exploring a world of possibilities, big and small, girls thrive in Girlguiding.
We’re home to 80,000 inspiring volunteers who give their time and talents to create the best experience for girls. They make a real difference in girls’ lives – and make friends for life. They build campfires and confidence – both girls’ and their own. They take girls on adventures big and small, and take time to really listen. They make guiding happen – leading 23,000 local groups week in, week out - from Aberdeen to Arundel and in between. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of Girlguiding.
We are looking to set up local Guides units across out Coastal South area! Currently we have many girls waiting to join a Guides unit but sadly with no volunteers we have been unable to set one up.
We are looking for people who would be interested in supporting the running of a Guides unit.
This could include:

  • Interacting with girls aged 10-14 and supporting them through the fun and engaging Girlguiding programme.

  • Helping set up and tidy up after unit meetings.

  • Supporting with accounts.

  • Leading fun activities such as sport, crafting and camping and leading important life skill activities such as budgeting, building confidence, public speaking etc.
We typically meet once a week but this would be very flexible as we get the Guides unit up and running (for example, we may only run the unit once a month until the unit is fully up and running).
You would be supported by a mentor and other Girlguiding volunteers to help get the Guides unit up and running.
We also provide a range of training to help support you in this role.
We offer flexible and micro-volunteering opportunities. Any time you can offer to help a Guides unit get up and running would be invaluable!
